We have all seen the stage hypnotist have people make fools of themselves to the thunderous applause of the mindless minions. This image probably has done more harm than good for the art of Hypnosis. The name itself really doesn't do it justice. Hypno comes from the ancient Greeks meaning sleep, the total opposite of reality. In a hypnotic state or trance, as I refer to it, you go into a hyper-awareness, totally focused on the sound of the voice that takes you on a journey deep within.

Hypnosis has been studied a lot by universities and researchers around the globe, and the results are impressive. The power of the unconscious mind is anything but unconscious. It's interesting that all aspects of our lives can be enhanced by tuning inward and tweaking the way we deal with our emotional biases.

Working in the subconscious mind is like walking into an old-school library. Everything is within reach. A skilled practitioner can achieve what some would call miracles, but in reality, all we do is facilitate and guide the client into their own healing using the client's own resources to produce some truly remarkable results.

Hypnotherapy has the potential to upset the apple cart. Mental health and life, in general, are no longer accessed through medication and 20 years on a therapist's couch.

But noone thinks of changing himself"
